Homeschooling for gifted students
My name is Dayana and I would like to have my 2 kids homeschooling for the next school year. Both will be in Middle school, one on 6th grade and the other one in 7th grade. My kids are in gifted classes at this time. I would like to get more information about homeschooling for gifted students.
Hi Dayana, one of the nice things about homeschooling a gifted student is that you can move at that child's speed. Your child can work 2 years ahead in one subject and 4 years ahead in another. Another benefit to homeschooling a gifted child is that you can meet your child's academic needs and their emotional needs. Gifted children can also become very focused on one area of interest, and homeschooling frees up time for interest-led learning. For example, if academics are completed in 3 hours, that frees up the rest of the day for a student to pursue their passion.
